The hardest part was not only the loss. It was the suspicion it created. When something went missing, everyone started looking at everyone else.

Once material movement became digitally recorded, that changed. Receiving, issuing and transferring materials became traceable. We could see what moved, where it went and which process it was connected to.

It became much harder for material to disappear without leaving a trail.

For me, the biggest improvement is accountability. The system does not depend on someone's memory or a handwritten note anymore. And the people doing their jobs properly no longer have to defend themselves when something cannot be found."
